Bio

Marina began her music studies at the age of 6 at the local art center in Moscow, USSR. During her school years, Marina also studied piano with Tamara Bakhova of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and took voice and choral conducting lessons with Olga Platov of Moscow Institute of Music. In 1991-2005 she performed as a soloist and song writer with various choirs. In parallel with her music journey, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in publishing in 2005. The same year Marina moved to USA, where she polished her English and upgraded her knowledge of musical terms and modern pedagogy concepts by completing with High Honors her Associate of Arts in Music at Santa Monica College. Eager to provide the best service for her students, Marina constantly enhances her skills by taking lessons from the leaders of music teaching industry such as Bradley Sowash (piano, jazz, pedagogy) and Boris Mogilevski (ukulele, guitar).

For over 12 years, she has been teaching music at the Palms Park Recreation Center and in a few private music studios in Los Angeles. Among her students are winners of international arts competitions. 

She sings with the SMC jazz vocal ensemble and leads Play Ukulele In Playa Vista community ukulele circle.
